Thoughts from the developer, well those that are fit to print and about the process of developing an ambitious pen and paper RPG in the computer age. Website Interruption, RPG Now, and other Updates

First off, sorry for the interruption in the website.  Our payment is due every six months and this year that came in a tight two weeks.  I notified that web site hosting site that the bill due on the 2nd of the month would be paid on the 15th, they cut off the service after three days. Now while it is the hosting sites right to do this, it has somewhat soured our opinion of the hosting service and after this next six month period is up we will be giving serious consideration to another provider.  That being said I accept responsibility for the interruption, I had two weeks with more bills than I could pay on time.

What is in the works...

In between running a play test of the second chapter of Entropila, I have been working on the final typesetting of the core NUD10 book.  So far it looks good, if a little Spartan, I have no budget for art.  Almost a full decade of university will do that to you.  Once the initial typeset is finished, I will work like a beaver to add in the last creature descriptions and the long awaited, many times started, and never finished example combat section (I have hours of audio logs from game play and pages of notes).

Futuristic Play Through and Entropila Chapter II

The futuristic "Percipitate Demiurge"  campaign has had it's first play through and as with most campaigns after the core mechanic was finalized has brought about very few revisions.  I will begin incorporating things into the next release of NUD10 that would have been spoilers for the play testers.  The space ship combat may need slightly more tweaking especially for those who are not well schooled in orbital mechanics, it works and did provide good flavour, but I may take a balancing pass at a few of the space ship weapons and possibly add a blurb about ships that are dead in space.  The rough system for corporate acquisitions I used in the campaign may get documented in equipment if I can generalize it to multiple time periods.

Recent News - Computer Failures and Ongoing play testing..

There have been no updates for some time now, not because the project has died, but due to a range of technical and development issues.  First off, the work on another release is ongoing.  I have incorporated changes from the latest round of play testing and some contributions from the forums into the working version.  The biggest hurdle to getting to 0.9x is the huge number of example NPCs yet to create, so if you would like to help out please check out the thread on the forum.

The final round of internal playtesting commences

While most of NUD10 is exceptionally well playtested (a few years of play) the futuristic rules have yet to have a solid play through.  Much of the changes you will see in the next few point releases are going to be the result of feedback from this last set of internal play through.
